Summary of May 27
(Just something to use, if it calls to you)

The May 27th meeting was the moment for Andrea Heisel and the Board of Trustees to reveal the "amazing " plan.  This did not happen.

It was suggested she provide a seat at the table for our patrons.

Our library staff longed to be included, too.

Perhaps most heart-wrenching of all was the petition of a former staff member who Did lose her job. She provided vital, specialized services to our community, yet she lost her job due to the 61 layoffs that Ms. Heisl herself drafted before being rewarded with the Interim Director role.

But what did we find instead?

Ms. Heisl read a prepared statement from a paper with her arms folded. There was no apology. There was no outreach to those who are still suffering every single day they clock in, or to those who can no longer come to work for our community.

Since taking the helm, Ms. Heisel has actively hoarded power. She gave remarks about 'promoting from within'—a thinly veiled promise to use new vacancies to reward her friends.

Worse still, after sitting through the desperate pleas of her own workers, Ms. Heisl chose to tell the public that 'employees feel valued and heard.' Although this was expressed as a goal-- there was no outreach to the person who was laid off.  She could have told her, "Hey, I'm going find a way and a space for you to continue to provide these vital services".

That is not just out of touch; it is gaslighting. Her own words reveal her true intentions: she has no desire to face hard truth, or to include staff and patrons in the decision-making process.

Commissioners, We DEMAND the immediate removal of these Bad Actors!

If you do not check her and the library board right now, your commission will be remembered as the one that sat back and let their county library fall into ruin.

We will remember this in August elections.

Gloves Off Baby!

Messages show Brenda Lane and Paige Preston disparaging the

Board of Trustees and critics of the library as it faces budgeting crisis

WE DEMAND JUSTICE: Under RCW 27.12.190,

the County Commissioners have the power to remove trustees for just cause.

CONVENE A PUBLIC HEARING NOW.

TRL Board Of “Trustees” claimed it was a mistake…

THE RECORD PROVES IT WAS A CHOICE.

They voted to approve unbalanced budgets for three consecutive years.
❌ They lied to County Commissioners, calling finances "stable" while the deficit grew.
❌ They ignored hundreds of emails from staff and patrons warning of disaster.
❌ They rewarded the very administrator responsible for the $3.8M loss with a job as interim director.

Perspective 2

Run into the ground

Rachelle Martin explains the situation after the annual audit.

She is concerned that there will be no funds by October.

There has been mixed messages about a Levy lift, it's any one's guess at this time.

Perspective 1

The Library Board and Administration are certain

the Library will not run out of money before October.

Surely, if this is the case,

they will be happy to show us the audit summary

and be transparent about their plan.

Please write  the Commissioners,

who are up for election.

And ask them to insist on seeing the Audit and the Plan

that proves these promises - they are listening.
